This project required a typographic work that explores the subject of ‘fads’. The project promotes typography design through the investigation of historical, cultural and global perspectives.

The big idea for the project is to create a small theme driven newspaper, “Moment”, that discuss different fads and problems within society. Within this edition, different protesting and outrage fads are discussed and digested.

The aim of the paper is to create different emotions through its design in order to spread awareness and bring across the seriousness of the problem.  Therefore, each double-page spread’s design strategy and specifications differ. The emotion that the content, as well as protest, convey was focused on in order to come up with design solutions. While doing research I noted that different causes use different typographical approaches – Animal rights are usually fought in Bodoni. I focused on work these original details into my designs and played a lot with the tonality of the type as these different protests speak in different voices.
